Bed Sheets for Air Beds
Since about one-third of your life is spent sleeping, it makes sense
that you would want to make your bed comfortable and relaxing. A major
part of making your bed comfortable is the type of sheets you put on it.
If you follow some basic guidelines for choosing good quality sheets,
you will find that they will prove to be a comfortable and worthwhile
investment.
First of all, you need to consider the size of your mattress, and not
just whether it is twin, full, queen or king. In order to appeal to the
needs and comfort of many people, mattresses are now manufactured with
features such as pillow tops (on one or both sides) which increase the
depth of the mattresses, unlike the old standard size mattresses, With
the various thicknesses of mattresses available today, you may find that
one set of queen size sheets does not fit your mattress as well as a
different set of queen size sheets. Therefore, you should measure your
mattress before buying sheets to ensure that you will obtain a proper
fit. It may even be necessary to buy one size larger if your mattress is
very thick.
Another important factor to consider when purchasing sheets is the
thread count. TPI (thread count per inch) informs you of the amount of
threads in a square inch of the fabric. You should choose thread counts
of a minimum thread count of 200. Basically, the higher the thread
count, the softer the
sheets. Higher thread count sheets will also last longer than the lower
thread count sheets.
The type of material also varies to a great extent. You will find them
in a range of fabrics from a cool, comfortable cotton to a more
elaborate type of silk. Cotton is the most widely used fabric. They can
range from a light-weight cool version for use in warm weather to a
soft, cozy flannel type for use in cold winter months. Some of the more
upscale types of sheets include the satin and silks. These fabrics are
generally more expensive, but some people prefer them over other
fabrics. Some women believe that satin pillowcases will prevent
wrinkles, which may be one reason why some women
prefer them. Other people prefer the smooth texture of silk and satin on
their bodies.
Also, when selecting sheets, it adds a nice touch to your bedroom if you
choose sheets that enhance your decor. For that reason you would want to
stay within the color scheme of your room. You may prefer the look of
solid color sheets or those with a tasteful design. But whatever type of
sheets you select, keep in mind that you will be using them often and it
will be worthwhile to choose sheets that are comfortable and attractive. |
