About High Air Beds

Raised Air Beds

Raised air beds, or high air beds, are much easier for a person to get in and out of than low air beds. However, they are not as convenient to take on camping trips since they are larger and more cumbersome.

A high air bed contains an additional air channel, thus the bed is approximately 22 to 24 inches above the floor. In fact, it is basically the same height as a standard bed frame with a box spring and mattress.

Since the height of this particular type of air bed is greater, so is the price of the bed. A good quality higher air bed may cost you in excess of $300, but you can purchase one for less.

The higher air beds are favorable for overnight guests since they are generally more comfortable and more like a regular bed. Due to the comfort created by the air channels in the bed, these beds are being incorporated into the traditional mattress designs.

Another advantage with the raised air beds is the flocked fabric which is a feature contained on most of these types of beds. This flocked fabric not only adds to the comfort of the bed, but it also helps to prevent punctures or air leaks. Thus, the raised beds are more durable than most other types of air beds.

These high air beds still have the advantages of saving space, as well as the ability to be rolled up and stored in a closet or other storage area. As a result, they make an ideal addition to the home for overnight guests.
